How the Sedona Stargazing Tour Works

Four steps from booking to deep-sky views under Sedona's dark night sky.

  1. Book & Get Your Meeting Point

Reserve online. Because Sedona's dark sky sites rotate seasonally under a Forest Service permit, your exact meetup spot — always within 30 minutes of Uptown Sedona — is sent with your confirmation.

  2. Meet Your Astronomer Under the Stars

Drive to the prearranged dark sky site and meet a professional astronomer at this permitted spot, far from town lights where the night sky is at its darkest.

  3. Tour the Constellations

Your guide traces the constellations and signs of the Zodiac with a laser, sharing the mythology while pointing out planets, the Milky Way, meteors and passing satellites.

  4. Look Through the Big Telescopes

View the Moon's craters, Saturn's rings and double stars through large-aperture telescopes, then watch colorful galaxies and nebulae live on the 4K video astronomy screen.

What Stargazers Say About This Sedona Tour

4.6/5 from 22 verified travelers

"Book this tour!!! If you love nature, astronomy, or just looking at our beautiful night skies, this is the tour you want. Chris was amazing!! He was our astronomer/guide for the evening. He provided great accommodations with chairs for everyone and blankets for those who needed it. He has all the right tools to provide a great experience for everyone. He is very detailed in the experience he provides and even communicated the specific coordinates for the location where we would be stargazing. Chris has a wealth of knowledge about our galaxy, solar system, and everything else that’s up above our heads. We had a blast!! This was so worth it for me and my husband. Thanks Chris!"

"Our guide was enthusiastic & knowledgeable, but not really engaging. He did contact us when we were having difficulty finding the location & we appreciated that, but we think the way to the site could have been better marked."

Alice United States

"Chris was amazing - so knowledgeable. Much over my mental capacity but very interesting. Wish we would have had more telescope viewing time vs TV scope screen vision time."
